Happy New Year everyone!
We actually stuck pretty close to the menu plan this week. The Tourtiere was much better the next day, but that was mostly because I didn’t get a chance to make the meat mixture early. I don’t know what I did with the pastry but it was the best I have made in a very long time. It rolled out so well that I had no problem making the pie shells at all. I wonder if it was the addition of some whole wheat flour? The only thing I didn’t get around to making this time was the desert pies and the turkey soup. I think I will try to get the turkey soup done today and make the pies tomorrow.
Now on with the plan for this week.
Monday, 31st December: Slow-cooked Meatloaf, baked potatoes and maybe a sparkling wine, what goes with meatloaf? 🙂
Tuesday, 1 January: Spaghetti and meatballs
Wednesday , 2 January: Home-breaded Chicken, oven baked, mashed potatoes
Thursday, 3 January: Kabobs and rice
Friday, 4 January: Ham, scalloped potatoes, broccoli
Saturday & Sunday: Open
I hope everyone has a healthy and happy new year. If you would like to find more menu plans visit Laura at Organizing Junkie.
What doesn’t go with meatloaf? 😉 I think sparkling wine would be splended, let the bubbles break up some of the richness of the meat. Enjoy and Happy New Year. My menu is up here.
I keep telling myself that I must start a menu plan …. someday, maybe next year 🙂
Hope you have a wonderful new Years Eve!
