Aidan just cried himself to sleep on my lap. This was not the birthday I imagined for him. #
Home again. Nothing broken but now it is a mystery pain. Praying that it is just an anomaly that will be gone by tomorrow never to return. #

Numbing cream on the feet. In15 minutes the IV goes in and we are on our way. #
We are encouraged to eat and drink lots in between the scans. Good thing, we were starving yesterday. #

Aidan is trying to sleep while we wait. I can now add listlessness & reduced appetite to symptoms. Also a tendency to splotchiness. #sickboy #
Getting some codeine for the pain tonight and hope some sleep will help. Not much new except that something is wrong with his hand. Sigh. #

After seeing our family dr she sent us guess where? Yes. The emerg. Sigh. She doesn't think oral antibiotics will be enough. #
Aidan's hand now twice the size of the other one. #
Aidan is being admitted to the hospital and being put on IV antibiotics. Thanks to everyone for supporting us through this. #sickboy #
Aidan is if finally sleeping after IV antibiotics, fluids and some pain meds. Now we just need a bed upstairs. Happy to be doing something. #
Aidan's decision to have donations to the children's hospital instead of gifts at his birthday party next week was a good idea I guess. 🙂 #
Aidan is going in for a small operation to drain the hand in a little while. Things go fast when the (rest of) symptoms come all at once. #
Thanks everyone. Aidan is in surgery now to get the infection drained. The surgeons were concerned enough not to let it wait till tomorrow. #
He was a little scared but all the doctors and nurses have been very reassuring. I am looking forward to a decrease in is pain. #
We will know better after surgery, but it looks like it is a deep infection near the muscle between his thumb and index finger as well a #
Skin infection. So the surgery is to drain fluid and infection from his hand so it doesn't do any further damage. #sickboy #
It looks like Aidan will be in the hospital for at least a few days. I am relieved & a little stunned @ how quickly things are moving today. #

So to update : Aidan is out of surgery & is asleep in his room. He had a deep infection in the base of his thumb & it was causing the pain. #
It is the first time in days that his face and body have been free and relaxed. It is a joy to see. #
Ok I am officially exhausted. Going dark until morning. Thanks to all my friends out there. You make things easier. #
Another restless night. I forgot how often vitals are checked after surgery. A is doing well enough to be bored & is now listening to HP. #

For those not following @AnthonyFloyd a quick Aidan update: as well as the hand infection he also has a blood infection. #
A blood infection means at least another week of IV antibiotics and hospital stay but probably longer. For now he is much more comfortable. #
When I get a little more organized I will put the Facebook updates on the blog and flesh out what is going on. #
Right now the best thing one can do is send good thoughts out. We appreciate all the support & will let you know if there is anything else. #
Though, if anyone knows of a good massage therapist, I may need one at the end of this. 🙂 #

Quinlan finally admitted he was worried that Aidan won't come home from the hospital. He finally seems to be settling down for the night. #
Aidan is still tired but doing much better today. About 8 hours with a few interruptions has really helped. #
New linens, new pajamas lots of activity and Aidan is now very tired. @AnthonyFloyd picking up Q so both can have a nap. #

Of all the doctors, the hand surgeon seems to get Aidan at his worst. Of course the surgeon comes when Aidan is most tired and cranky. 🙂 #
Made it through more vomiting, a hand soak and physio, more doctors and nurses. Now @aidanfloyd is sleeping peacefully. #

Now the big question, do I use Netflix and watch seem crap tv or a crap movie while @aidanfloyd sleeps? #
