Truth: Hopes and Dreams

I decided that in my post on forgiveness I covered both days 3 and 4, both by forgiving myself for not keeping in touch with people and forgiving those who didn’t keep in touch with me.  Now onto day 5, something I hope to do in my life.

I hope to do a great many things in my life some great, some frivolous and some career oriented and some just a dream that will not likely happen for a very great while.

In the frivolous category I would like at some point to go to a ball with Anthony.  I would love to dress up, have dinner and dance with my husband and not worry about the kids.  Of course in a ball situation it would be nice to have some other couples who would also be there so it could be a real party.  Maybe one year Anthony and I will go to one of the New Year’s Eve balls here.

In the career category I would like to become a paid writer.  I know that this is somewhat attainable as long as I keep up with my writing on the blog and start to send out writing proposals.  I would also like to write a children’s book or two.  I haven’t figured out if they will be picture book stories or short novels for the 4-7 set.  There are not a lot of short novels that are suitable for early readers. My hope is to more fully pursue this when Quinlan is in preschool next year.

I also hope to travel more with the kids.  I am planning to go to Europe in 2012, however I think it has to be not London since it will be frantic due to the summer games.  Anthony and I want to go to Scotland, Ireland, Wales and France for starters.  I am keeping the blogher account open so that we can sock away some cash to pay for the vacation.

I hope for is a chance to buy a house that isn’t too far from Anthony’s work.  Unless the bottom falls out of the housing market in Vancouver this is not going to happen.  There is no way we can afford even a 3 bedroom townhouse right now, and unless we win a lottery I think this is still just a dream. In the meantime we are looking for a 3 bedroom house that isn’t unaffordable to rent.  This *may* be a more attainable goal.

I hope that both Aidan and Quinlan will get through university without debt.  I hope they find their bliss. I want my boys to be happy and healthy and fulfiled.

My toddler is starting preschool next year, too. I consider September, 2011 to be my ‘freedom date’. I’ll have something like 18 hours a week (GASP!) to myself. I feel giddy at the prospect. 🙂
