Menu Plan Monday

menu_plan_monday.bmpBack after a week of fly by the seat of my pants meals. I know that Anthony missed the menu plan because he actually commented that he couldn’t look at the menu and know what should be for dinner that night. I actually did pretty well and I only asked him twice on msn what he wanted for dinner. 🙂 So on to the menu.

Monday: Beef and vegetable Kabobs with Basmati Rice

Tuesday: Lasagne, salad, bread

Wednesday: BBQ Chicken, Buns, Veggies

Thursday: Pizza

Friday: Scallops, Cod, and maybe some French Fries

Saturday: Picnic Supper

Sunday: Slow-cooked roast beast

Yeah, I feel better already. I am such a menu plan junkie now that this week has been much more hectic and chaotic than I like. Happy menu planning! As always you can find more menu plans at Organizing Junkie. Thanks to Laura for hosting.

Random Rant

I have been wondering this to myself several Fridays now; (yes I am aware that it is now Sunday or Monday for those reading on the east coast,) What the hell kind of person shaves their legs at the community center pool showers?  Why do people do this?  It is gross!  I don’t want to see you shaving your body hair, I don’t want it clogging the drains of the communal showers.  I bet this is the kind of person who dyes their hair at the gym so they don’t have to clean up any spots at home.  LOL, I am sure though that these people are probably grossed out by me taking my son into the ladies dressing room at the pool even though it is clearly booked as “Waterbabies” swim classes at the time when I (and about a dozen other moms)  am there.

<Sigh>  This is just something I have been wanting to gt off my chest since I can’t actually tell the person while they are shaving.  I wouldn’t actually want them to hurt themselves in a wild shaving accident because I disturbed the delicate balance they have going on the slippery shower room floor. 🙂 No, that would be very bad.  (Hehehe, just picturing it in my mind.)  Now I feel better.

New Haircut and Weird Toddler Circadian Rhythms

With the change in light up here (you would think we were way way up north) it doesn’t get dark before 9:30 and we can’t seem to keep the light from Aidan’s room. This means that for the last few nights Aidan has not been getting to sleep before it is dark. This is wreaking havoc on our lovely bedtime schedule and is making it very hard for our Aidan to get the amount of sleep that he needs. (He is also waking up at the crack of Dawn!) So today despite the very tired toddler and Mommy we went down to the baby gym at False Creek to get some time in on the cars and ride on toys. Aidan for some reason will not go near the bouncy castle. In fact it was the same shaking fear that he had when we tried to bring him up the stairs to the cement trucks. He was very well behaved except for the time when we had to go. The transition times are getting harder and harder for Aidan and I am not sure how to make the transitions from playing to going home any better. He doesn’t seem to understand “one more time around the gym and then we go.”

There is a child’s haircutting place at the Market and Aidan’s friend T. has been twice and his mom Gen has liked the results. Since the last hair cut Aidan got with his dad was a total disaster and the haircut we tried to give him didn’t go much better I hoped that this one would go better. It did. There was a little bit of crying but he was able to sit in a horse chair and watch Thomas the Tank Engine. The stylist was very quick and very used to heads that move all over the place. She also only used scissors as I told her that clippers were a very bad thing and he would have a big tantrum. So, without further adieu, here are the before and after pictures.

Menu Plan Monday

menu_plan_monday.bmp

Ok, another week and more planning. Except that this is a fly by the seat of my pants post. I don’t have a plan, well yet but I will by the end of this post. Anthony has turned our other blog into a geo-caching site (well not really but that is the main thing we have been doing with our weekends) and the post he wrote last night took at least 2 hours to write, but I am thinking more like three. With that and watching (except for the Tribal council that kicked off Yau-man, stupid Global) Survivor (another three hours) I didn’t have time to discuss the meal plan with Anthony or get in down on the blog. So here goes:

Monday: BBQ Chicken, plus oven fries, veggies

Tuesday: Convenient food. Soup, or pasta maybe.

Wednesday: Hamburgers, hot dogs, salad

Thursday: Spaghetti, meat sauce, garlic bread, salad

Friday: Fish and Chips

Saturday: Picnic for Geo-caching Saturday

Sunday: BBQ something or other

Ok, I hope all works out this week. Last week was a little bit frantic for some reason. The idea of a picnic for the saturday night dinner was a good one so that Aidan ate well before the stomach upset  deadline. It was nice to eat outside while we were hunting as well.
