He can Turn so Quickly

Last week when I was posting the Aidan tidbits I thought the answer to the question “Do you love Daddy?” was way too cute. I did feel a little guilty so I turned it around so that when I asked “Do you love Mommy?” Aidan would answer, “No, Just Daddy.” Well it worked too well. I thought that he would answer the opposite just when asked either question. No. Sadly now when asked “Do you love Mommy?” he answers “No, just Daddy.” When asked “Do you love Daddy?” he answers “Yes, I love Daddy.” Combine this with Aidan not wanting me to come with him and Daddy to get his jammies on, you have a bit of a sore heart, even if with the questions he is grinning like a madman he finds it so funny. Heaven help me for developing the toddler sense of humour.

The New Bunny

Aidan had a complete meltdown this afternoon just like when we first introduced the bunny. It sounded as if we were torturing him. What was it that we did to scare the shit out of him? We put batteries in the Operation game I just got. We can’t even open the box now without him melting down.

I am just glad he didn’t take it out on his nose again.

Who knew butt cheeks could be so strong?

F*&^%  Word Press lost my post. I am so tired I don’t think I can rewrite it. At least Anthony is making chocolate chip cookies.

Sigh. Ok I will try.

Aidan has not been feeling the best for over a week now. It isn’t slowing him down any, just making him very irregular and very sore. So sore in fact that he wants nothing to do with anything resembling a diaper change. I have tried to get him to use the toilet instead, avoiding therefore the need to clean up much more of the butt but he is having none of it. That is not to say that he hasn’t been improving on the toilet training scene. He is. He just isn’t regular right now so it is difficult to predict when he might need to go. That being said he has three times over the past four days almost made it to the toilet and almost peed a lot in the toilet. This is a big deal. Now if he would just give me a little bit more notice we would have it in the bag or the toilet so to speak.

Now onto the toddler memory and the butt cheeks. As Aidan is now older his memory is getting better and better. He knows that it will hurt when you clean him up, especially if he wakes up with a dirty diaper that has been there a while. This has lead to a very determined toddler; he will not let you clean him up without a fight. He uses superhuman strength to keep his legs closed. Kinda like the nuns told girls to do in old catholic schools (or so I assume). When I finally pry the legs open he then clenches those butt cheeks like there is no tomorrow. Needless to say you have a hard time getting him clean quickly and getting the cream on is almost as bad. The only helpful thing is that as soon as you start putting the cram on he relaxes and says “the cream feels better.” Now if only he would remember that is he lets go I can get everything cleaned right some quick.

As soon as he is regular again we are going on a toilet training marathon. M&M’s anyone?

Aidan Demands and Tidbits

Aidan: “Have another Timbit?”

Mommy: “Not right now Aidan. We are going to have a cheese sandwich first.”

Aidan: “Not a cheese sandwich. Only another Timbit. Now.” Needless to say he did not get another Timbit.

We were shopping for a Christmas present for Tallis and I asked Aidan to help me.

Aidan: “Tallis like a train?”

Mommy: ” I would love to send Tallis the train but it is much too big to send to Manchester.”

Aidan: “Tallis the train.”

There was a Fisher Price animal Train for infants. While continuing to show Aidan some other options to see if he thought Tallis would like them, he continued to play with the train.

Mommy: “Do you think Tallis would like this monkey?”

Aidan: “No Mommy. Tallis likes the train. Only the train.”

This morning while Aidan and I were getting ready to go out I was hugging him and telling him I love him.

Mommy: “I love you Aidan, do you love me?”

Aidan: “I love the cat. Mommy love the cat?” He is playing with a small Siamese cat while hugging me.

Mommy: “Yes Aidan I love the cat, but I love you more. Do you love Mommy?”

Aidan: “I love you Mommy.”

Mommy: “Do you love Daddy?”

With a big grin, and then a hug. Aidan: “Only you Mommy.”

Anytime something is not quite right, or is frustrating Aidan.

Aidan: “Poor Aidan. Poor Darling. ” in a very sad voice.
