Oh Santa! I Just Can’t Wait For You to Come!

I love Christmas and I have an itching to start decorating and get the boy excited about Santa Claus. I can’t wait for Advent! It is so close and I will have a few advent calendars for Aidan this year. My dad and Kate got Aidan a beautiful Advent Calendar last year that is a felt tree with little stuffed ornaments to put on the tree every day in December. I am planning to get it down from the top of our storage locker with the other ornaments and lights on Saturday so that we can start putting up the lights. I am also expecting an Advent calendar from Nana for Aidan and I am making a small box calendar as well. I will post pictures when it is finished.

Today Aidan and I went on an adventure downtown on the TROLLY bus. Aidan was so excited and he walked a good deal of the way. We went into Sears and the first thing Aidan saw was the Christmas trees. He really wants us to get one soon. He loves the lights and the fact that the trees are indoors. When we were looking at the clothes so I could check out the pyjamas, he found a sheep. He wants this sheep. I told him we could take a picture of the sheep and send it in a letter to Santa Claus to see if he might be able to get it as a present. We then went for the main portion of our trip (excluding lunch) and checked out electric pianos at Tom Lee Music. Aidan loves pianos. He could bang on them all day. I have a few pictures of the pianos we want and a small video of Aidan playing one. He found octaves by himself. It was so cool. I really hope he will be a good piano player. It is such a good skill to have.

When we got home we wrote the letter to Santa Claus. I will publish it as a separate post, it is very cute. I hope SC will write back. I think Aidan would be thrilled. Meanwhile I will post the pictures of Aidan and the pianos. Of course the one we really want is the most expensive. Maybe Santa will help us. 🙂CIMG1286.JPG

This one doesn’t come with the stand and bench. It has a nice tone though.

This one is fun, but very silver. It does come with the bench and stand.

This one has pedals like a real piano, and it is my favourite. It is very sturdy (Aidan won’t be able to knock it over) and is the most like a real piano (of the ones I tried.) It is also the most expensive of the bunch. Please Santa?

Just a Short Note

My day started at 3:30 am this morning when Aidan woke up. Now I am extremely lucky that Anthony got up with Aidan at 6, so I got a few minutes sleep. It has been a long day. Aidan finally went down for a nap at 1, but I needed to bring him into the big bed at 2 so he would sleep a little longer. At least this meant that I got a short nap as well. Now I have a choir practice tonight, and only three rehearsals before the advent carol service. Sigh, I don’t think I will be getting to the Organization Challenge. It just doesn’t seem possible. At least I got the parcels mailed. I now need to finish my basket for the Christmas Swap and get it mailed. Only one more week in November, how did that happen?

A Fish Named What Else? Fish

The pump on our fish tank quit today. It has been a long time coming. I think actually that the pump is almost 6 or 7 years old, and for the last 2 it has been finiky. So on our list of things to do today along with the drain unplugger, and M&M’s we decided to get a new pump so the fish don’t get oxygen deprived. I also told Aidan we could get a fish for him. It is amazing how upset he got when I told him he could name the fish. He thought that by naming the fish he wouldn’t get to pick it out.

*******

I asked Aidan today what the name of his giraffe was. I asked “is your giraffe Gerome?”

Aidan: “No.”

Gwen: “George?”

Aidan: “No.”

Gwen: “Graham?”

Aidan: “No, just Giraffe.”

Another animal or “Aminal” as Aidan calls them, with a really original name like sheep, or pig. Lol, I wonder why he called the cat Kedgie?

Damn, Haven’t I blogged Today?

I guess that I can’t really blame it on the power out today since it was only 20 minutes. I could blame it on the sushi making, that took much longer than I thought it would. I made a cake, but then it was from a mix, so not enough time there. Well, how about the time I spent with the boy, doing laundry, dishes and driving. That took up a big portion. Making supper? Well Anthony helped. Ok, I guess I really need to blame it on 2 things. 1: Playing Guitar hero with Anthony. 2: Watching compelling dancing shows while eating cake.

Yes, I admit it. I love and never miss Dancing With the Stars. I even vote. Just one question, why in the name of all that is holy, do they put the horrible fake lashes on Marie Osmond? It is no wonder she had a hard time with the Mambo, she could hardly see.
