Menu Plan Monday

 Menu_Plan_xmas1.jpg

Merry Christmas Everyone. For those that don’t celebrate Christmas, Happy almost New Year.

Monday, Christmas Eve: The Golden Great Wall (going out or staying in for Chinese food.)

Tuesday, Christmas Day: Big Turkey dinner with friends.

Wednesday, Boxing Day: Tourtiere, and turkey leftovers. My recipe is a little different but it is essentially the same. I always add more seasoning, and no celery. You can add grated potato to keep it a little juicer. If you boil the meat the day before you can get rid of a lot of the fat by refrigerating the meat mixture. Be aware that the juices will gel.

Thursday: Leftovers and Turkey soup.

Friday: Slow-cooked Roast.

Saturday: Whatever strikes our fancy.

As always, please visit Laura at Organizing Junkie for more menu plan ideas.

Toilet Training Cuteness

As you know we are trying to get Aidan to toilet train. It is sometimes (all the time) a struggle, but sometimes we have a breakthrough.

This morning Aidan comes up to me on the computer and says in a sad voice.

“Mommy the penis.”

“What is wrong with the penis Aidan?”

“It hurts.”

“Do you need to go to the toilet?”

“Yes. And Poop too. And get a orange M&M.”

Unfortunately he just ate the M&M and didn’t do anything in the toilet, but it is a start.

Wrapping it Up!

This December I was part of a Christmas swap with a number of bloggers across North America. It was organized by the about to pop Much More Than a Mom (thanks Nicole.) I sent a package to Chelle of Crazy Thoughts, and I was sent a package from Damselfly of Growing a Life.

I found out yesterday that the package I sent got there and was appreciated. I was a little worried because it is hard to find things for someone you only know from a blog. I think I did ok. It was an eclectic mix to make her move a little easier. It was a little funny to me that Chelle was moving from New Mexico to Halifax, my home town. I hope that despite the snow the move will bring her family a lot of joy.

Just a few minutes ago I got the package from Damselfly. It is beautiful and a recipe for relaxation wrapped up in a red knitted purse. Thank you! I can’t wait to try it out. I will have to wrestle it from Aidan though. He liked the purse and immediately started marching around with it saying “Aidan’s purse Mommy!” Kids and bags, they have good taste.

I love the pom-poms.

Dianthe again, I just couldn’t resist. She loves being under the tree.
