All I can say is that it had its ups and downs. Here are the highlights.

Confessions

I am sometimes an emotional mess. Certain movies, tv shows and sometimes even soaps can bring a tear to my eye and lump to my throat. I often get a bit choked up when I hear live music especially when I am with my kids and they are enjoying themselves so much. The hip wiggle and jaw tapping that Aidan does when he is really enjoying music makesย  my heart skip a beat. Looking at the smile that Quinlan has while he is trying to copy the dancers around him, and when he is singing along gives me a pleasantly squeezy feeling in my stomach. Hearing both of my boys sing O Canada with the crowd at the Remembrance day ceremony moved me to tears.

I never used to be this way. Don’t get me wrong I have always loved music and making music, but it didn’t affect me the way it does now. I have always been one to be emotional about movies. I always cry at the same spot in Boys on the Side, a highly underrated movie in my opinion, but I wasn’t one to feel like crying because an audience is singing White Christmas. Aidan and Quinlan have changed me. Just wait to see what a mess I will be when Quinlan sings with his preschool class on the 15. It is a good thing I don’t wear eye makeup.

Glasses

It is time for new glasses for Aidan and it is a good thing too. His preferred pair of glasses has an arm that keeps falling off and his other pair, currently being worn all the time are scratched to hell. This time I think I will get both pairs from Clearly contacts, but there is just one small problem. I have never ever had a pair of glasses that just fit me. There is always some adjustment needed and I am not sure that the hairdryer trick will work on the glasses he picked out. It might, if I get the metal warm enough I should be able to use my jewellers pliers to adjust them so he is comfortable, but then again maybe not. I do think that for the $500 we paid for the glasses he is wearing now they should be a lot sturdier. Have they not come up with an unbreakable pair of glasses yet? I still plan to get two pairs of glasses and have one of them not be transitions. I miss being able to take outside pictures of Aidan where I can actually see his eyes.
