Aidan is in the second half of kindergarten and learning french at an astounding rate. He is taller and has glasses. He is reading so much more and since he got his glasses he is drawing and colouring  and making art.

Quinlan is finally off the breast. He still wants his soother, but we are weaning him off that as well. Quinlan’s face looks so much older, and he is running and jumping like a boy much older. Quinlan still has some speech issues, but he is getting so much more talkative and much more understandable.

Both boys are playing together more and this is both wonderful and horrible at the same time. Quinlan is very protective of what he wants and how he wants to do things. Aidan is very protective of what he wants and how he wants to do things. Quinlan always wants what Aidan is playing with. Aidan always wants what Quinlan is playing with. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn’t.

Both my boys are incredibly stubborn and bullheaded. They get ideas and it is difficult if near impossible to change their minds. While this has not changed over the year and a half, it is still a source of some frustration for all.

In the last year Aidan has started to learn how to swim, ski, skate and act.  In the last few weeks he learned to ride his bike! He can read small novels and is getting into Harry Potter. He can read cursive and I plan to teach him how write in cursive very soon.

In the last year Quinlan has learned to run, jump dance, and is learning to swim. He quite happily goes underwater and has fun at the pool. His first time on skates was a blast and he will love skating lessons next year. It is almost time to register him for preschool next year. Now we just need to get him potty trained.

My boys are growing up, and it still amazes me everyday the things they can do. I love to watch them grow and change, but a little part of me can’t help wishing I could stop time, if only for a little while. Well, except for the potty training, that can happen any time now.
