I am increasingly amazed by Aidan and what he is capable of. We have been working on the alphabet for a while now and I am trying to get Aidan to draw and write a bit more. It was always a struggle to get Aidan to hold the crayons with the correct hold. Yesterday Aidan decided he wanted to play with a stencil he saw while I was getting some other craft materials. He wanted to play with the letter so I let him. Today he has been playing with my stencils and by himself he figured out how best to hold the markers. I am so proud, not to mention stoked that he is having so much fun learning. Here is the proof. (I will post the video later.)

Ok, I just have to tell the world. Ok, I know it is just the grandparents that might actually be at all interested in this news. The Boy actually pooped in the toilet today. I was so happy he got three stars. Oh, and a hug and so much praise he was grinning form ear to ear. I was so happy I did a dance for joy!

I think this made up for the 2 times he peed on the bathroom floor. I have to tell you though, I am not entirely sure.

Cooking With Daddy

A few weeks ago we got Aidan a 2 step stool so that he could get “Cwean” in the bathroom. ( He can’t reach at all with just a step stool.) I have been thinking about letting Aidan help with some baking but I haven’t been brave enough to try. Anthony, however, tried it yesterday with great results. The only problem came at the end of making the batter. Aidan did not want to wait for the pancakes to cook. In fact he was so upset he crawled up on the table to cry.

Anyway, not much else to say the pictures I think say it all. (Oh, please excuse our messy counters. No space and all. )

Muffins are cake

On Monday I learned how long our boy’s arms are. He was able to get a carrot muffin from on top of the stove and brought it to me. He stood there grinning ear to ear and said “Cake, Mommy, Cake!” I,like a very good and permissive mommy said”Sure Aidan, you can have cake for breakfast.” “Yeah right!” was the reply.

So, from now on I am the mommy who lets her son eat cake for breakfast. Wink wink.

I have no words, or the Toilet Incident

We have cats staying with us and their litter-box is in the upstairs bathroom. This means the door is open. Yesterday Aidan decided to play with the litter after (thank God!) I cleaned the box. Today he did something different. The pictures explain all.

Before you put the Mommy Guilt on me, the camera was on top of the fridge just a few feet away. Toddlers, what will they think of next.

I have to tell you how cute my boy is. Hendrik came over for a few minutes to drop something off and spend few minutes visiting Aidan. As he was going down the stairs he called out “Bye Bye Henwik.” He then said it about three or four times. Aww, the grin on Hendrik’s face nearly split it in two. It was even better than his “Bye, Bye train.”
