Kathy and Devra, thanks for the validation. I think I am slowly figuring things out and how to make any rules that I need positive for all parties involved. I am still not looking forward to the full time, but I don't think my friend is either.

It takes way more than just this to make you a bad person! You need to do more, try more, be baaaad.

I think what may help you is if you iron out some expectations now with your friend. Just like a regular daycare has discipline and policies for the daycare, so shall you, but somewhat less formal. Write down some of the things you think need clarifying and approach it from the perspective you have stated of "I'd like to make sure our children remain safe when they are in my care so why don't we both establish some guidelines we feel good about? If we do this now, we might not have to worry later about any kind of miscommunication or misunderstanding and this in turn will avoid anyone's feelings getting hurt unintentionally."

Gwen you are certainly NOT a bad person. It takes a lot of adjusting to someone else's child on a full time basis. Everyone has different rules. Remember Robbie's boys!!!! Thought I would give you that flashback. Keep on truckin.
